Per the President’s Proclamation, this order is in effect until sunset on Tuesday, November 10, 2009.

 Please be advised that Governor Patrick has ordered that the U.S. and Commonwealth flags be flown at half-staff at all state buildings effective immediately and until sunset on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 in honor of the victims of the Fort Hood tragedy. Also, please be advised that, as previously ordered, flags are at half-staff today in honor of Capt. Kyle R. Van De Giesen of North Attleboro, Massachusetts and tomorrow in honor of Capt. Eric A. Jones of Westchester, NY and Mashpee, MA, both of whom were killed in action in Afghanistan on October 26, 2009.

This gubernatorial order applies to:
1. The main or administration building of each public institution of the Commonwealth, e.g. town and city halls
2. Other state-owned or state-controlled buildings
3. All state military installations
