The Community Housing Committee (CHC) has been hard at work for the past 14 months writing a Housing Plan to guide local decision making on issues related to affordable community housing. The CHC was formed in 2003 by the Board of Selectmen to bring focus to housing issues, and to guide and educate residents and town boards on the town’s housing needs. The first task the committee decided to undertake was to write a housing plan.

The plan, if approved by the state Department of Housing and Community Development, will give Sudbury priority for some state discretionary grant funds, such as for open space, highway and infrastructure projects and recycling programs.

The plan will be unveiled and discussed at the Housing Forum scheduled for October 21, 2004, and sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Sudbury, the First Parish Church and the Board of Selectmen.

Public comments will be accepted on the plan until November 29, 2004. Copies of the plan can be downloaded by Clicking Here, or by contacting the Planning Office at 978-443-2209, ext. 1387. To send comments directly to the Community Housing Committee [email protected].
