Board of Health Nurse

The Board of Health Nurse, Phyllis Schilp, BSN, RN provides a variety of community health services for the Town of Sudbury.  Blood pressure and blood glucose screening clinics are offered at the Sudbury Senior Center on Tuesdays, 8:45 am to 10:30 am and at every 3rd Wednesday at Goodnow Library from 10:15 am to 11:15 am.

In the Fall, the BOH Nurse provides flu clinics for town residents and town employees.  Home visits for flu vaccine are also available for those frail elders who cannot get to the clinic. Working with the town social workers, the BOH Nurse also makes occasional home visits to check on frail residents, providing assessments and education.

The BOH Nurse also works with the school nurses and the Mass Department of Public Health to track communicable diseases in Sudbury and protect the public health.  Educational seminars and programs on a wide variety of health and wellness topics are offered at the senior center and other locations to help prevent disease and promote public health.  For more information please see the Senior Center, http://beta.sudbury.ma.us/services/SeniorCenter.

Finally, the BOH Nurse is also involved in disaster preparedness as a member of the Sudbury Medical Reserve Corps and Citizens Emergency Response Team.
